AI assistant

Start your next bid by just describing it

BuildWorkPro connects to Claude and ChatGPT. Tell the assistant about the job — from your desk or your phone — and it builds the bid, the project, or the site log in your account. You review, then you send.

"When I start a new bid, I usually just start chatting with Claude on my computer or my phone. I give it the information and it builds the bid for me. When it's done, I review it in BuildWorkPro and send it. Projects work the same way — the team and I run almost everything through natural conversation now."

— Ivan, founder of BuildWorkPro and owner of National Glass and Construction

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect once

Link BuildWorkPro to Claude or ChatGPT from your account — a few minutes, once, no technical setup beyond signing in. The step-by-step is in the docs.

  2. 2

Talk like you'd talk to your estimator

"New bid for the Riverside storefront — twelve openings, our standard hardware, usual labor rates. Customer is Mendez Builders." The assistant creates the bid, adds the line items, and prices them from your catalog.

  3. 3

    Review and send in BuildWorkPro

Everything the assistant builds lands in your account looking like you made it — because it did it with your permissions. Open it, check the numbers, adjust what needs adjusting, and send it when it's right.

What you can ask it to do

Start a bid from a plain-English description and build out its line items
Price line items from your product catalog and labor rates
Create contacts and leads from a name, a phone call, or an email thread
Set up projects with phases and tasks, and update them as things change
Log site notes and daily happenings from the field
Draft change orders when the GC asks for something extra
Answer questions: "What bids are still open?" "What's due this week?"
Summarize a project, a customer history, or the month's billing

It works with your real account data — your catalog and labor rates, your contacts and pipeline, your projects — under your permissions, with you as the final review.

The part nobody else offers

Plenty of construction software now advertises "AI" — a chatbot in a corner of their app, a summarizer, an autofill. This is different: BuildWorkPro connects to the assistant you already talk to, on the devices you already carry. You don't open the app to use the AI; you talk to Claude in your truck, and the bid is waiting in the app when you sit down. As of today, no other construction platform — not Procore, not Buildertrend, not JobTread, not Knowify — offers a Claude or ChatGPT connection that actually operates the product.

AI assistant FAQ

Do I need to be technical to use this?

No. If you can send a text message, you can use it. You connect BuildWorkPro to Claude or ChatGPT once, and from then on you just talk — describe the job, ask the question, request the change. There are no commands or prompts to memorize.

Which AI assistants work with BuildWorkPro?

Claude (on the web, desktop app, and phone) and ChatGPT — the two assistants most people already use. The connection uses an open standard, so as more assistants adopt it, they work too.

Can the assistant send a bid to my customer without me?

It works inside your account with your permissions, and the workflow that works is the one our founder uses: the assistant builds, you review in BuildWorkPro, and you decide what goes out. A bid reaches a customer when you send it.

Does the AI assistant cost extra?

No. Like everything else in BuildWorkPro, it is included in the $79/month plan — there is no AI add-on, token bill, or higher tier. You do need your own Claude or ChatGPT account.

What is this technically?

For the curious: the connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI assistants securely operate applications on your behalf. BuildWorkPro runs a live MCP server covering bids, projects, contacts, site logs, change orders, and more — the developer details are in our docs.
