Site Logs
Daily site logs create a record of what happened on the job each day. They are essential for documentation, dispute resolution, and project history.
Creating a daily log
Section titled “Creating a daily log”- Open your project and go to the Field tab.
- Click New Daily Log.
- Select the date (defaults to today).
What to record
Section titled “What to record”Each daily log captures:
- Weather — Temperature, conditions (clear, rain, snow), and wind. Weather records explain delays and support claims.
- Work performed — A summary of what your crew accomplished that day.
- Crew count — How many workers were on-site.
- Visitors — Note any inspectors, GC representatives, or owners who visited.
- Issues — Document problems, delays, or safety concerns.
- Notes — Any additional observations or communications worth recording.
Adding photos
Section titled “Adding photos”Attach photos directly to your daily log:
- Click Add Photos in the log.
- Upload from your device or take a photo on mobile.
- Add a caption describing what the photo shows.
Photos are stored with the log and organized by date, making them easy to find later.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Fill out logs daily before leaving the site. Details fade quickly.
- Be factual and specific. “Installed 200 LF of conduit on 2nd floor” is better than “worked on conduit.”
- Document delays caused by other trades — this protects you during disputes.
