Time Tracking

Time tracking lets you log hours worked by your crew on each project. This feeds into job costing so you can see whether projects are on budget.

  1. Open your project and go to the Time Tracking section.
  2. Click Add Time Entry.
  3. Fill in:
    • Worker — Select the team member.
    • Date — When the work was performed.
    • Hours — Regular hours worked.
    • Overtime hours — Any hours beyond standard (typically over 8/day or 40/week).
    • Description — What they worked on.

Each time entry is costed using labor rates configured in your settings:

  • Standard rate — The base hourly cost for each labor classification.
  • Overtime rate — Typically 1.5x the standard rate.
  • Burden rate — Additional cost for taxes, insurance, and benefits loaded on top of the base rate.

Labor costs calculate automatically based on hours entered and the applicable rates.

The time tracking view shows:

  • Total hours by worker, day, or week.
  • Labor cost breakdown by project or phase.
  • Comparison of budgeted vs. actual labor hours.
  • Enter time daily to keep records accurate.
  • Use the description field to note specific tasks — this helps when reviewing job costs later.
  • Managers can review and approve time entries before they are finalized.
