Creating a Bid
Bids are how you price work and send proposals to general contractors or property owners. BuildWorkPro gives you a structured way to build accurate estimates.
Start a new bid
Section titled “Start a new bid”- Click Bids in the sidebar, then New Bid.
- Enter a descriptive name like “Oak Valley Office - HVAC Install.”
Select a contact
Section titled “Select a contact”Choose the client this bid is for. You can pick from your existing contacts or create a new one on the spot. The contact’s company name, address, and email will populate your proposal automatically.
Set your terms
Section titled “Set your terms”Configure the bid details:
- Bid date — The date you are submitting the proposal.
- Expiration date — How long the bid stays valid (commonly 30, 60, or 90 days).
- Scope of work — A text description of what is included.
- Exclusions — Clearly state what is not covered.
- Payment terms — Net 30, progress billing, or custom terms.
- Notes — Any additional conditions or clarifications.
Save and continue
Section titled “Save and continue”Click Save to create the bid in draft status. From here you can:
- Add line items to detail your pricing.
- Configure rates and markup.
- Send the bid when you are ready.
Bids auto-save as you work, so you will not lose progress.
