Navigation and Search

BuildWorkPro has two ways to get anywhere: the sidebar for browsing and the command palette for jumping straight to a record.

The sidebar

The dark navy sidebar down the left edge lists every module by name, grouped the way a subcontractor’s work flows:

  • Dashboard – your home screen.
  • Sell – Pipeline, Contacts, and Bids.
  • Build – Projects, Calendar, Site Logs, and Time.
  • Get Paid – Change Orders, Pay Apps, and Invoices.
  • Library – Products, Documents, Reports, and Activity.
  • Settings – account and company settings, at the bottom.

Badges on a module flag work waiting on you – bids needing follow-up, unreviewed site logs, pending change orders and pay apps, overdue invoices. The + New button at the top creates a contact, lead, project, bid, or invoice from anywhere, and a Recent list keeps the records you opened last, with a star to pin the ones you return to.

Click Collapse at the bottom, or press Cmd+B (Ctrl+B on Windows or Linux), to shrink the sidebar to a narrow rail of labeled icons.

What you see depends on your role. Field Crew, for example, does not see Bids or billing.

On a phone, the sidebar becomes a bottom bar – Dashboard, Pipeline, Bids, Projects, and Time for office roles; Dashboard, Projects, Site Logs, and Time for Field Crew – plus a More button for everything else.

The command palette

The command palette is the fastest way to find a specific record. Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows or Linux. You can also click the search box in the header.

Start typing and the palette searches across your whole workspace:

Contacts, Leads, Projects, Bids, Change Orders, Pay Apps, Invoices, Site Logs, Documents, Products, Tasks, and CSV Import Templates.

Select a result to jump straight to it. Before you type, the palette also lists quick actions and your recent searches.
