Import & Export

Import & Export brings records in from CSV files and exports your data back out. Open it from Settings -> Import & Export, under Data & Developer in the settings menu.

Import data

Section titled “Import data”

The Import Data card runs guided CSV wizards for:

  • Contacts
  • Products
  • Leads
  • Projects

  1. Pick a type. Click Open importer on the type you are importing. Click Sample CSV first if you need the column layout.

  2. Upload your file. Select your CSV and map its columns to BuildWorkPro fields.

  3. Import. Review the preview and run the import.

Export data

Section titled “Export data”

The Export Data card downloads your records as CSV – Export Contacts, Export Products, Export Leads, or Export Projects. Each export takes a date range and filters (contact type, category, pipeline stage, project status, and so on), so you export just the rows you need.

Starter templates and catalog

Below the import and export cards:

  • Starter Templates – add ready-made templates for your trade: a starter estimate and a standard project plan. Templates you already have are never changed.
  • Starter Catalog – add a ready-made product catalog for your trade with example pricing. Removing it later keeps anything you edited or used on a bid.
